SHORT ABOUT US

Hey guys! Thank you so much for visiting our website. We want you to know a little bit about us and how we got into the bike business on the Virginia Creeper Trail.

Justin Noonkester was born and raised in Abingdon, Virginia. He grew up using the Virginia Creeper Trail as his personal highway to his friends houses, the pool, and all over town. Little did he know that later he would be using it to make a living. Justin is now serving as The Worship Arts Director for the youth at Highlands Fellowship. He loves leading worship for the youth and often makes his wife jealous because of his great love for his guitar.

Celina Noonkester was raised in Marion, Virginia which is about 30 miles North of Damascus.  After graduating from Emory and Henry College in 2004 she moved to Abingdon and began using the Virginia Creeper Trail frequently. Celina now helps lead the youth praise team at Highlands Fellowship and accompanies Justin on most of his gigs outside of church.

Our Team:
Briggs Noonkester now 18 months old is the spitting imagine of his Mother. He has a tendency to be mischievous, which he gets from his Father (of course)!
Bennie and Bettie Cornett- Celina's parents help out at the shop whenever needed. Bennie is most comfortable telling his famous stories on the journey up the mountain. While Bettie would rather be babysitting Briggs!
Mike, Lori, and Poe Noonkester- Justin's family also lends a helping hand whenever needed. Mike makes trips up and down the mountain as does Lori from time to time ... and no, they do not trust her to drive a big van, only the mini vans!!
Benji Cornett- Celina's brother helps shuttle people up the mountain and bums free rides to stay in shape on his mountain bike.
John "Hutch" Hutchinson- Our right hand man and our answered prayer!!

THE BEGINNING

family photoAfter a divine connection Justin and I met, dated for six months, were married in July of 2005, and four months later found out we were having a baby! At that time Justin was running a landscaping business and I was working for a cell phone company. We were believing God for a new business opportunity because we didn't have peace where we were.

In July of 2006 Justin's grandfather told us about the "Ole Barn" bike shop on the Virginia Creeper Trail being up for sale. After a lot of prayer and some research, we felt such incredible peace with the decision to buy it. This decision would not only give us financial peace, but also allow me to stay at home with our baby, Briggs, who was due in August.

This had always been a dream of ours and one of the deepest desires of our hearts. God promised us in Psalm 37:4 that he would give us the desires of our heart! He never ceases to amaze me! We prayed for God to give us a name that would stand out and He did just that! He spoke to Justin in a dream and gave him the name, JC's Outdoors; Standing for Jesus Christ and our initials, Justin and Celina. Who knew our initials were so powerful! We know God has called us here and we feel so blessed to be in a work environment where we can have our family together and share our love for Christ openly!
